A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found by police in woodland in south Manchester.

Officers discovered the body of a man, who is yet to be identified, in an area off Threapwood Road in Wythenshawe known as Big Wood.

Greater Manchester Police had been called to the scene at about 07:30 BST after receiving reports of an unconscious man being there.

A 40-year-old man is being questioned in custody and inquiries are ongoing, the force said.
