An access road to a park in Brighton will be closed from Monday for resurfacing work.

Stanmer Park's access road will be closed for at least five days, says Brighton & Hove City Council.

Access to the park will be "severely restricted", the council says, but the park remains open.

Traffic management and marshalling will be in place to control traffic, allow access for residents and staff, provide emergency access and ensure public safety.

Limited car parking for visitors will continue to be available in the Lower and Upper Lodges, and Chalk Hill car parks.

Councillor Alan Robins, cabinet member for sport and recreation, said: 鈥淚鈥檓 delighted that, following decades of patching up, we have been able to fund this long-overdue road resurfacing at Stanmer Park.

鈥淚t will make a huge difference for residents and all park users.鈥
