Mountain Road closed for commercial filming
- Published
The main route between the north and the Isle of Man's capital has been shut to traffic while commercial filming takes place.
Daytime closures of the A18 Mountain Road have been put in place on Tuesday and Wednesday between Ramsey and the Bungalow.
The road is set to be closed between 09:30 to 12:00 BST and 13:30 to 16:00 on each day.
The filming is set to involve Metzeler, the official tyre partner of the Isle of Man TT races, using part of the TT course as a backdrop.
The closure was requested by motorsport communications and public relations firm Motocom.
The Department of Infrastructure said alternative routes were available via the A3 Castletown to Ramsey Road and the A2 Douglas to Ramsey coast road.
The route between Douglas and Sulby via the Tholt Y Will Road is set to remain open throughout, allowing access to the Creg Ny Baa Hotel in Onchan, as well as the Victory Cafe, Snaefell Summit Cafe and Snaefell Mountain Railway Station at the Bungalow.
