The beauty of the cherry blossom tree is to be celebrated at a free open day at a museum in Bradford.
Visitors to Bolling Hall will be able to plant their own bulbs in a take-home pot and make hand-crafted tissue blossoms during the event, the city council said.
Other family-friendly activities will include children鈥檚 story time, face painting and balloon modelling, a spokesperson added.
The event is due to take place at the museum, parts of which date back to the medieval era, between 11:00 BST and 15:00 BST on Sunday 28 April, they said.
James Steward, museums and galleries manager at Bradford Council, said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e looking forward to welcoming everyone to this family-friendly event inspired by the beautiful cherry blossom at Bolling Hall.
鈥淲e hope visitors will have a great time exploring the grounds and the museum and taking part in all the activities.鈥
There would be no charge to attend the festival, but donations would be 鈥渨elcome鈥, Bradford Council said.
