A man who made antisemitic posts online has been sentenced.

Peter Kandalaft, 58, of Bourneside Road, Addlestone, was sentenced to eight weeks’ imprisonment suspended for 12 months at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

He is also banned from using social media for 12 months and must complete 45 days worth of rehabilitation.

Kandalaft had pleaded guilty to malicious communications at a previous hearing in July.

In December last year, Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) was made aware by a charity of a number of concerning posts made on a X.

By the time CTPSE received this information, the account had been suspended by X.

Officers executed a warrant in the early hours of 11 January during which Kandalaft was arrested and he was subsequently charged.

Det Chief Supt Olly Wright, said: “This case featured a number of horrifying posts on social media which were violently antisemitic in their nature."

Kandalft was also fined £200 and had to pay a £154 victim surcharge fee and a £85 cost of prosecution.
