Two people have been rescued by a lifeboat crew after their inflatable boat began taking on water.

Both lifeboats from Weymouth were sent to the small dinghy in Weymouth Bay after getting a mayday call on Saturday at about 13:00 BST.

The pair had been trying to cross the bay from Portland to Lulworth - a distance of about nine miles (15km) - when they got into difficulty.

They were taken on to the lifeboat and their vessel was towed back to Weymouth.
