Man charged with assaulting police officers
A man has appeared in court charged with assaulting police officers in Leeds.
Jason Mortimer, 36, of Cliff Crescent, Kippax, was arrested by police "carrying out arrest enquiries" on his street on Sunday.
He was later charged with wounding with intent to resist arrest, attempted wounding with intent to resist arrest, and breach of a restraining order in relation to an incident on Saturday.
Mr Mortimer appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court and was remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 24 December.
Mr Mortimer has also been charged with two counts of resisting a constable in the execution of their duty.
