Police investigate suspicious death of 36-year-old

Police are investigating the death of a 36-year-old man after he was found unresponsive in the street.

Officers and paramedics were called to Chepstow Road, Newport, at about 18:00 BST on Tuesday.

Gwent Police have confirmed they are treating the death as suspicious.

The force said the man's next of kin had been informed.

Ch Supt Matthew Williams said: "We would like to reassure the communities of Newport that we are doing everything we can to establish the circumstances surrounding his death."
