Battle to control village shop blaze
- Published
Firefighters will remain at the scene of a blaze that damaged a village shop overnight.
The fire was spotted just before 07:00 BST on Main Street in Gosforth, Cumbria, and the road through the village is expected to be closed for some time, police said.
The 成人快手 understands the fire is affecting a Budgens branch known as The Village Store.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said everyone had been accounted for.
Crews and 10 engines were pulled in from Barrow, Workington, Staveley and Maryport to help tackle the flames.
The fire service said two appliances and an aerial ladder would remain at the scene throughout the night.
A spokesman for the fire service said crews would "continue to dampen down the site and respond to any hotspots that emerge".
Main Street will remain closed to motorists until Friday morning at the earliest.
The road is open to pedestrians but the fire service has warned people to "proceed with caution" around the damaged building.
