Repairs to a wall in Bradford which collapsed during Storm Debi in November are due to begin next week.

The uphill lane of the B6151 towards Baildon, between Otley Road and Rockcliffe Avenue, would be closed to allow the work to take place, Bradford Council said.

It had approved 拢75,000 worth of funding for the repairs, which would be carried out by a specialist contractor on behalf of the landowner, the authority added.

The work was estimated to take about eight weeks to complete.

The council told drivers to expect a diversion via Green Lane, Green Road and Cliffe Avenue.

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, there would also be a diversion in place via the A6038 Otley Road, Woodcot Avenue, Netherhall Road and Station Road.

However, the downhill lane of the B6151 towards Shipley would remain open.

Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, executive member for regeneration, planning and transport, said: "The work needs to be completed before winter, as the harsh weather could affect the structural integrity of the area and cause further collapses.

"We understand this essential work will cause disruption to road users in the area, however this will be monitored on a regular basis."
