Virgin Media to move 1,500 staff into city centre
Virgin Media O2 is set to relocate its Manchester office and bring 1,500 employees into the city centre.
The telecoms giant has agreed a ten-year lease to move customer service staff from their current base in Wythenshawe to a new building on John Dalton Street.
Virgin will occupy about 50% of the new office after reaching a deal with private firm HBD and the Greater Manchester Pensions Fund, who built the site.
Patricia Cobian from the company said the building was designed to be a net-zero carbon workspace and its "enviable environmental credentials and excellent transport links" had proven a major draw.
The lease at Concord House, Virgin's base in Wythenshawe since 1991, is set to expire in 2026.
Staff are set move into their city centre new home, which is still under construction, later next year.
