Driver 'threatened with gun' in attempted robbery
Police say a firearm was believed to have been used in an attempted armed robbery in Inverness.
A man approached a vehicle in Lochalsh Road and threatened the driver at about 21:00 on Friday.
The driver left the scene and there were no injuries.
Police, including armed officers, were called and searched the area.
The man was described as white, about 5ft 10in tall, of slim build and was wearing a dark coloured rain jacket with the hood up.
He had a grey scarf covering his face.
Det Con Pamela Dugdale .
She said: "I'd like to reassure the public, we have extra patrols in the area for reassurance and we do not believe there is any wider risk to the public.
"As we continue to try to trace this man, I鈥檇 ask for any information which may assist.
"Were you in the area at the time and saw what happened or anyone acting suspiciously?"
