Police granted extra time to quiz murder suspect

Police have been granted extra time to question a man who was arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead in Stafford.

The body of Rebecca Simkin, 31, was discovered when officers were called to a property on Newport Road, shortly before 10:30 BST on Monday.

The 44-year-old murder suspect remains in custody.

Staffordshire Police has said its specialist officers continue to support Ms Simkin's family.

Anyone with information has been urged to contact the force.
