Motorcyclist dies after crash with police vehicle
A man in his 60s has died after a motorbike he was riding was involved in a crash with a police vehicle in Londonderry.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said they received a report of the collision close to Maydown PSNI Station, shortly after 13:00 BST on Wednesday.
The motorcyclist was taken to hospital by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) for treatment for serious injuries.
The police confirmed on Thursday that the man had since died.
The PSNI said the driver of the police vehicle, who they described as a "contracted member of staff", was not injured in the incident.
Insp Cherith Adair said an investigation was under way to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision.
The police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash, or who has dash-cam footage of it, to get in touch.
