CCTV images released in motorway disorder probe
CCTV images have been released of individuals suspected of being involved in disorder that blocked a motorway in Portsmouth.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said members of the public walked onto and temporarily blocked the M275 northbound before moving to the opposite carriageway on Wednesday evening.
Police urged anyone who recognised any of those pictured to get in touch.
A 17-year-old boy from Portsmouth, arrested on suspicion of wilfully obstructing the highway, has been bailed until 7 November.
Police said the five images - all showing adults - were released as part of the investigation into the disruption that began at about 20:00 BST on Wednesday.
Supt Paul Markham said: "Clearly during this incident a small number of people disrupted members of the public travelling into and out of Portsmouth on Wednesday evening.
"Our officers took quick and decisive action to ensure that disruption was kept to a minimum."
He said the force was "continuing to assess the current and evolving risks and issues in our communities".
"Everyone has the right to free speech and peaceful protest. However, officers will take a robust stance against those who choose to act outside of the law and use it as an excuse to demonstrate violence and disorder," he added.
