More than 250,000 trees have been inspected across Wolverhampton to help maintain their wellbeing and devise risk management strategies.

The city council programme has taken two years to complete.

A city-wide record of trees under the council's care has been created as a result, identifying work that needs doing to protect them.

Councillor Craig Collingswood said the work was a huge achievement that had been made possible by the dedication of the authority's arboriculture team.

An interactive map has also been launched to allow easier access to information on tree locations and inspections.

鈥淭his comprehensive record and new interactive map will now be vital tools to help us with risk management, maintenance and expansion of our tree stock," Mr Collingswood said.

The scheme covers a diverse range of species that are located in streets, cemeteries and various open spaces throughout the city.
