Human trafficking charges after sex workers found
Four people have been charged with human trafficking after police found a number of vulnerable sex workers during a raid in Birmingham.
Acting on warrants, officers searched three houses in the city where the victims were discovered on Wednesday.
They have been safeguarded with the help of West Midlands Police's exploitation team and Women's Aid, the force has said.
Daoying Tang, aged 50, Degang Wei, 46, Lin Qing, 51, and 49-year-old Lech Kossowski, were all charged with controlling prostitution for gain.
The two men and two women appeared before magistrates in the city on Friday, and were remanded in custody.
West Midlands Police has not disclosed the location of the raids or addresses of the accused for "investigative reasons and to safeguard the victims".
