Motorcyclist dies in M25 crash near Dartford Crossing
- Published
A motorcyclist has died following a crash on the M25 near the Dartford Crossing, Kent Police have said.
The force was called to the clockwise carriageway on the Kent side at around 14:30 GMT on Wednesday.
As well as police, South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb) attended the scene but the motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The police said that the man's next of kin have been informed.
The road was closed while the incident was responded to and did not not fully re-open until 23:45.
The disruption caused "heavy" traffic on the A2 and A13 as a result of the closure, with congestion through Dartford and Greenhithe as traffic was diverted.
Kent Police are asking for anyone who saw the incident, or has any footage of it, to get in touch.
