Extra cost warning over health centre delays
A warning has been issued that delays to a project to modernise the health centre in Grantown on Spey could lead to higher costs in the long term.
A cross-party group of MSPs is calling for the final phase of the scheme to continue following a decision by the Scottish government to pause NHS building projects.
Highland MSPs Fergus Ewing, Rhoda Grant and Edward Mountain are seeking an urgent meeting with the health secretary to discuss the situation.
The Scottish government said funding from the UK government was being reduced by more than 拢1.3bn between now and 2027-28, which had resulted in a pause of new NHS building projects in Scotland.
A spokesman added that they were currently preparing their revised infrastructure investment pipeline and they anticipated this would be published alongside the Medium-Term Financial Strategy in the Spring.
