Fatal house fire caused by electrical fault

A house fire that killed a man in his 90s was caused by an electrical fault, investigators have confirmed.
The man died after the blaze broke out at a terraced house on Peel Street in Castletown, Stafford, at 06:00 GMT on Wednesday.
Firefighters evacuated two neighbouring properties as a precaution before extinguishing the flames. Nobody else was harmed.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service since confirmed the blaze started accidentally from an electrical plug socket.
Station manager Leigh Richards, who attended the incident, expressed his condolences to the man鈥檚 family and urged people to check sockets for hazards.
鈥淚 know this incident has devastated the man鈥檚 family but I hope it can potentially help someone spot fire hazards in their own home and act before it鈥檚 too late,鈥 he said.
