A Staffordshire Police response officer has been dismissed without notice following a misconduct hearing.

An investigation into PC Daniel Jones found he had behaved inappropriately towards another officer whilst on duty.

The force said his misconduct included touching and sexualised comments, and he was also found to have made an inappropriate reference about a 14-year-old child.

He will now be barred from working within policing or other law enforcement bodies.

A misconduct panel, chaired by an independent legally-qualified chair, found Mr Jones’ behaviour amounted to gross misconduct.

He had been suspended prior to the three-day hearing, which concluded on 24 July.

Mr Jones was found to have breached the force’s standards in relation to authority, respect and courtesy.

He was also found to have discredited the force.

Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Ellison said Mr Jones’ behaviour was unacceptable and would not be tolerated.

“PC Jones’ behaviour had a lasting impact on his victims and brought discredit to the force,” he said.

“We will continue to take robust action against any officer or member of staff that doesn’t act with the highest standards of integrity.”
