Works to improve roads in Wolverhampton are set to begin as part of a 拢9.7m investment programme.

The funding aims to repair potholes, with surface treatment work starting on Newhampton Road West and Newhampton Road East on Tuesday.

Resurfacing work will start on Dudding Road on 10 June with other works following throughout the summer.

City of Wolverhampton Council cabinet member for transport Qaiser Azeem said improvements to the roads would support the economy and the condition of roads.

The work is part of the council鈥檚 highway capital programme, with West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) providing funding for many of the projects.

Street lighting, city centre signage and city bridges will also be improved as part of the scheme.
