Signs are being installed around Aberdeen city centre as preparations are stepped up for the enforcement of its traffic low emissions zone.

Aberdeen is one of a number of Scottish cities introducing the measure to help to tackle air pollution.

Cameras are also to be installed on the zone's boundary over the coming weeks.

The LEZ was officially introduced in 2022, but fines will only be issued to drivers whose vehicles are not compliant from the beginning of June.

The zone will see some older vehicles, typically diesels from before 2015 and petrol-engine ones from before 2006, issued with a £60 penalty for entering the zone.

There are some exemptions, including for blue badge holders.

The full list of streets that are covered by the LEZ can be found on .
