Model railway to be auctioned off for charity
- Published
A man from Guernsey has made a model railway to raise money for a charity supporting young people with cancer.
Paul Foster, a semi-retired chartered surveyor, said he was giving away his creation to the most generous bidder to help raise funds for the charity Young Lives vs Cancer.
The railway is currently on display at the Le Friquet 成人快手 of Garden and Living in Castel.
Mr Foster created the model during the pandemic after wanting to fulfil a childhood dream of designing a model railway.
Mr Foster said the model railway took four years to complete.
He said it took "a lot more man hours than intended and at quite a lot more expense than a schoolboy's pocket money".
People interested in bidding are asked to leave their details at the information desk of the garden centre with an indication of the donation they feel would be appropriate.
The new owner of the model railway will be announced on 20 September.
