A man has died after a collision which led to the closure of a major road in Sussex leading to the coast.
The single-vehicle crash happened on the A23, near Bolney, at about 22:10 BST on Saturday, according to Sussex Police.
A 25-year-old man was treated by medical personnel at the scene but died a short while later, police said. His family have been informed.
Three other men, all aged 25 and from London, have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Both carriageways, between the M23 junction 11 at Crawley and the A272 at Bolney, were shut after the incident.
The coastbound carriageway was closed for more than 12 hours before it reopened at 11:00 on Sunday.
Lengthy delays formed as holidaymakers attempted to reach the coast on another hot day.
A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service had urged drivers to avoid the area.
Fire crews from Burgess Hill, Crawley and Horsham attended.
Sussex Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward.
