A Nottinghamshire man has been jailed after he smashed into his ex-partner's home and waited to attack her.

Police said Lynden Brown, 42, was banned by a restraining order from approaching his victim when he went to her home in Clifton, Nottingham, on 23 December.

He waited inside before he assaulted her and smashed up her car.

Brown was jailed for three years at Nottingham Crown Court.

Nottinghamshire Police said he had threatened to turn up at his victim鈥檚 home the previous evening.

The following day, he fled the scene but returned a short time later and barged his way back inside after repeatedly charging at her door, the force said.

'Frightening experience'

Brown, of Fleming Gardens, Clifton, pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and three counts of criminal damage.

At Nottingham Crown Court on 17 July, his restraining order was also extended until further order.

Det Con Ioana Parr said: 鈥淭his was a horrible and frightening experience for the victim, who was terrorised and assaulted in her own home by Brown.

鈥淭his kind of violence against women is absolutely appalling, and we will always work tirelessly to bring offenders to justice and safeguard victims.

鈥淚 am pleased Brown has now been brought to justice and is now not able to harm his victim.鈥
