King Charles received a hug from his niece Zara Tindall, as he visited the Royal Windsor Horse Show after returning to official public duties this week.

The King, who is undergoing cancer treatment, made a visit to the show on Friday afternoon.

Looking relaxed and smiling, he embraced his niece at the event in Berkshire, which his late mother Queen Elizabeth II often attended.

It was the King's third engagement in four days after it was announced last Friday he would be returning to public-facing duties.

On Tuesday, he visited a cancer treatment unit in London where he spoke to patients about the "shock" of hearing a cancer diagnosis.

When asked how he was feeling, he said: "I'm alright, thanks. Not too bad."

The King, who has become Cancer Research UK's new patron, was shown some of the innovative medical technology at the Macmillan Cancer Centre at University College London Hospital.

He met with patients to discuss their experiences, sharing that he had his own "treatment this afternoon as well".

In another engagement on Wednesday, the King viewed his official Coronation roll at Buckingham Palace.

The King's diary of forthcoming events will not be a full summer programme and attendance will be announced nearer the time "subject to doctors' advice", Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

"It is too early to say" how much longer his treatment will continue, the palace added.
