Lucy Letby was found guilty of murdering seven babies in hospital

A panel of judges has reserved judgement on whether to allow Lucy Letby to appeal her convictions for the murder and attempted murder of babies.

The Court of Appeal has heard the former nurse's application over three days.

In August she was found guilty of murdering seven babies, and attempting to murder six, at the Countess of Chester Hospital between 2015 and 2016.

She was sentenced to spend the rest of her life in prison.

The legal arguments cannot be reported by the media because a retrial over a remaining charge which the jury could not decide upon is due to take place in June.

A reserved judgement describes when a judge or panel of judges delivers a decision in writing at a later date, rather than at the conclusion of proceedings.
