Work to repair a coastal path hit by landslides is now complete

A coastal path has reopened to walkers eight months after a landslide made its pathways and tunnels dangerous.

The closure of the Pembrokeshire coastal path between Wiseman鈥檚 Bridge and Coppet Hall near Saundersfoot followed a serious rockfall in November.

Losing the path, known as the Tramway, left some walkers stranded and hurt businesses that rely on it as a tourist attraction.

The cost of stabilising cliffs and tunnels is likely to be about 拢600,000, Pembrokeshire council said previously.

The path was hit by three landslips between November and January before work began to make it safe.

"This path is important to residents and businesses," said Alec Cormack, the councillor for Amroth and Saundersfoot North.

He added that he was pleased the work was finished "in time for the remainder of summer".
