A man has been arrested after a haul of nitrous oxide was found at Manchester’s Parklife festival.

About 80,000 people are expected to flock to the the annual event at Heaton Park this weekend.

Greater Manchester Police said the 34-year-old man was held within the festival site on Friday afternoon.

He was being questioned on suspicion of possession with intent to supply the substance, also known as laughing gas.

, nitrous oxide has been categorised as a class C drug, which means it is illegal to supply it outside of its intended purposes, such as in a healthcare setting.
