A man has been given a suspended jail sentence after he breached a criminal behaviour order in a town.

Daniel Laws, 33, broke the order that required him not to enter Nuneaton town centre, Warwickshire Police said.

The order had originally been imposed in response to his anti-social behaviour and shoplifting.

Laws, from Tarn Rise, Nuneaton, appeared at Coventry Magistrates' Court and received a 20-week prison term, suspended for 15 months.

At a hearing on Monday, he was also ordered to pay a victims' surcharge of 拢154 and to complete 15 days of rehabilitation activities.

Action was taken against Laws after a police officer on patrol spotted him in Stratford Street.
