Tributes paid to 'selfless' man killed in crash

A family have paid tribute to a 鈥渃aring, funny and selfless鈥 man who died after he was hit by a car.

Aiden Perris, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Boldmere Road, Sutton Coldfield, which happened shortly before 22:30 BST on Thursday.

A woman who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released under investigation, West Midlands Police said.

Mr Perris鈥檚 family said he was a devoted husband, a proud father and a loving son, brother and uncle, as well as a 鈥渄ear friend to many鈥.

They also described him as a 鈥渢rue Irishman鈥 who lived his life to the fullest and created 鈥渦nforgettable memories鈥 that they would treasure forever.

鈥淗e showed us the value of hard work and will be remembered for the caring, funny and selfless person that he was,鈥 they said.

鈥淎iden was a family man whose wish would be for us to pull together and support each other during this time.鈥

West Midlands Police has appealed to any witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage to come forward.
