Murder probe after man found dead in street
A murder investigation has been launched after the death of a 36-year-old man who was found unresponsive in the street.
Gwent Police said officers attended Chepstow Road, Newport, after a man was found with "serious injuries" at about 18:00 BST on Tuesday.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service.
The force said the man's next of kin have been informed.
Det Ch Insp Virginia Davies said the force are "doing everything we can to establish the circumstances surrounding his death".
鈥淎s our investigation continues, we ask you not to speculate or share information online which may cause harm or upset to the victim鈥檚 family or jeopardise our investigation," she said.
"Our thoughts remain with the victim鈥檚 family and friends."
The force has urged anyone with information relating to the incident to get in touch.
