Two young children needed hospital treatment after being bitten by a dog on Eastbourne seafront, police have said.

The attack happened at about 10:20 BST on bank holiday Monday near the Holywell café.

Police carried out searches of the area and deployed a drone, a Sussex Police spokesperson said.

Images of a man officers want to speak to in connection with the attack have now been released by the force.

He is described as aged about 50, 5ft 9in (175cm) tall, and he was wearing a black T-shirt, a black long-sleeved jacket and black shorts.

He was carrying a black rucksack and a bottle of water.
