Four people have been taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) in Belfast following a six-vehicle crash on the M5, the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) said.

None of those taken to hospital are believed to have life threatening injuries, the PSNI have said.

The NIAS received a 999 call at 13:12 BST on Saturday after reports of the crash on the Northbound motorway.

An NIAS spokesperson said it despatched one Rapid Response Paramedic, six A&E crews, one HART crew, one non Emergency crew, five ambulance officers and one independent ambulance crew to the incident.

The motorway was closed northbound between Greencastle and the Rushpark roundabout but has since reopened.

The police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
