Kent Police are appealing for witnesses after assaults in Margate involving a chemical which left four people injured.

Shortly before 01:15 GMT on 9 November, the force said a group of people were involved in a disturbance in Mansion Street, which runs between Fort Road and The Parade.

During the incident, a man reportedly sprayed others with a liquid, believed to have been a strong alkali, causing four people to suffer reddening and irritation to their faces or chest.

Officers from Kent Police attended and have seized a bottle believed to have contained the substance used.

Police said they would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident or may have CCTV footage.

They have also released a picture of a man who they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.
