Town to open fanzone for Euro 2024 final
- Published
A free fanzone will be set up in a Lancashire park for Sunday's Euro 2024 final.
It will be opened at Alkincoates Park in Colne after the already-planned family fun day.
Blackpool Tower will also be illuminated in the colours of the national flag and the resort’s promenade will be decked with decorations throughout the weekend, displaying a 'Come On England' message.
Other local landmarks, including the Winter Gardens, will also be lit in red, as the town hosts a number of fan zones.
Thousands of fans have been celebrating England's recent dramatic victories at fanzones around the region and are now anticipating the team's first tournament final abroad where they will face a slick Spain side in Berlin.
Nathan Cutler, events officer at Colne Town Council, said: "We want everyone to come together as a community to back the lads in Germany and hopefully win this year's competition."
