A man has been arrested after a replica grenade, drugs and cash were found at a home in Liverpool.

Police said they found more than 2,000 wraps of heroin, cocaine and cannabis as well as a large amount of money and a "high value" watch in the Wavertree area of the city.

The 60-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing controlled drugs and an offensive weapon, Merseyside Police said.

People were evacuated following the discovery at the home on Stevenson Street at about 08:10 BST.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team confirmed they had located the replica grenade and removed it.

A police cordon was later lifted lifted and people were allowed back inside their homes.

Police appealed for anyone with information about weapons or drugs in the area to contact the force.
