A man has denied shooting a landlady when a gun was fired towards a crowd of people outside a pub in South Yorkshire.

Oliver Corney, 34, of Sheffield, is accused of possessing a gun and firing it towards The Red Lion in Wath-upon-Dearne, near Rotherham, on 28 June.

Bonita Page was injured in the incident, with Mr Corney accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He pleaded not guilty to both offences.

At Sheffield Crown Court, Mr Corney, of Cricket Inn Road, Sheffield, was remanded into custody ahead of a trial on 14 April 2025.

The court heard the shooting occurred outside Mrs Page's premises, with three shots being fired.

Posting on social media in July, Mrs Page, who suffered serious leg injuries, thanked family, friends and colleagues for their support.
