Overturned lorry causes A38 slip road closure
- Published
A slip road on to the A38 in Plymouth will remain closed overnight after a cement lorry overturned, highways bosses have said.
The crash happened on the A38 Forder Valley Interchange at about 08:50 BST, with the lorry overturning on the slip road at Marsh Mills, Devon and Cornwall Police said.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said crews attended the scene at 08:57 BST and used an environmental kit to stop a "small amount of diesel, oil and other vehicle fluids from entering a water course".
Police said the driver was understood to have suffered a minor injury.
The fire service said: "One appliance from Crownhill Fire Station attended the crash. On arrival the driver was already out of the vehicle and there was no fire, so crews made sure the vehicle was safe."
Recovery of the lorry was arranged, and a diversion was in place, police said.
Plymouth City Council's Plymouth Highways said on Friday afternoon that the slip road would remain closed "overnight due to issues with the road surface".
