Two people have been taken to hospital following a crash on the M8 near Glasgow Airport.

Drivers were warned to expect delays on the westbound Arkleston Interchange (junction 27) after the incident, which happened at about 13:20.

Police, firefighters and paramedics responded to the collision, which closed the road for more than two hours.

Traffic Scotland said all lanes reopened shortly after 15:30 but added tailbacks were likely for some time.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed two patients had been transported to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.
