A driver, aged 59, failed a roadside breath test

A suspected drink driver has been charged after he "narrowly missed pedestrians", says police.

Cambridgeshire Police said a car was stopped in Brampton, Cambridgeshire, after reports that it had nearly hit a group of Army cadets on a march.

The driver, aged 59, failed a roadside breath test, the force said.

He has since been charged with a driving offence and will appear at Cambridge Magistrates' Court in April.

The Cambridgeshire Rural Crime Action Team said its officers stopped the driver on Saturday in The Hurdles, Brampton.

It said there were no injuries.

A police spokesperson said: 鈥淥fficers stopped a vehicle in The Hurdles, Brampton, at about 17:00 GMT on Saturday after reports it had narrowly missed a group of pedestrians.

鈥淭he driver failed a roadside breath test.

鈥淗e was later charged with drink driving. He will appear at Cambridge Magistrates' Court in April.鈥
