Police are looking for a man they believe can help with an investigation into a serious assault, which left the victim with a fractured jaw.

Kent Police said a man was reported to have used "derogatory and homophobic" language towards a man not known to him in Rochester High Street.

He was then reported to have punched the victim in the face, resulting in him needing surgery.

A CCTV image of a man has been released by officers investigating the alleged assault at the junction of Blue Boar Lane between 21:55 and 22:10 BST on 3 August.

Police said officers had carried out several lines of enquiry including reviewing CCTV.

The force said it believes the man pictured can assist officers in their investigation and asked anyone who recognised the man to get in touch.
