England fan calls 999 to congratulate Harry Kane

Police have urged people not to waste the time of emergency call handlers after a man phoned 999 to congratulate Harry Kane.
Kane scored the winner against Slovakia in the first minute of extra-time on 30 June, propelling England into the quarter-finals of Euro 2024.
Derbyshire Police said the man called them at 23:00 and asked them to pass on the message: "That was the goal of the European cup鈥 that stressed me out, I can't believe it."
The force said the caller was warned wasting police time was a criminal offence, but no further action was taken.
The force's head of contact management, Supt Adam Wilkins said: "Misusing 999 in this way is, at best, inconsiderate and frustrating for my staff.
"The worst-case scenario is that such timewasting could prove deadly, if someone with a genuine emergency can鈥檛 get through.
"Please only call 999 in a real emergency."
