Finishing touches for revamped town centre venue

The final touches are being added to a historical building at the heart of a town centre鈥檚 proposed new 拢3.8m cultural quarter.
Blackburn鈥檚 Blakey Moor Terrace fell into disrepair and lay largely empty for years before it underwent a six-year revamp.
It was bought by the council but the renovation was delayed by the coronavirus pandemic and damage caused by various storms.
Landscaping and planting are under way, while drainage work is due to be completed by United Utilities.
The redesigned building, which is opposite King George鈥檚 Hall, now offers an outdoor area and is a key part of the Blakey Moor Townscape Heritage project, which has been funded by the National Lottery.
All of the original features and materials that could be salvaged have been used.
The council said it was looking "magnificent," the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.
