A bus has crashed into a bus stop, leaving four people needing hospital treatment.
Northumbria Police said it received a report a bus hit a shelter on Market Street in Newcastle, shortly before 12:00 BST.
An onlooker told the 成人快手 he saw the bus clip the stop, causing it to collapse on a man and woman.
The woman was trapped under the shelter and had to be rescued by members of the public, he said, adding: "The lady looked like she was in distress."
The onlooker, who wished to remain anonymous, said the shelter cut the head of the man it fell on.
The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) sent two ambulance crews and a clinical team to the scene, and said four people were taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary for further treatment.
The city's bus companies have been approached for comment.
