Police volunteer charged over sexual assault claims

A former Surrey Police volunteer has been charged with perverting the course of justice relating to a sexual assault allegation.

Laura Kilty, from Guildford, has been charged in relation to an allegation made in September 2023.

The 20-year-old will appear at Guildford Magistrates' Court on 5 November.

The offence is not connected to Kilty's time or role as a volunteer with Surrey Police, the force said.
