A man has been charged with gun offences after a shooting on a residential street.

The victim was injured on Bottetourt Road in Bartley Green, Birmingham, just before 13:30 GMT on Saturday.

West Midlands Police said the victim's wounds were not life threatening.

A 21-year-old has been charged with wounding, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and attempted robbery.

He was due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

"Our inquiries into the shooting continue and we’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and has dash cam footage," a force statement read.

"We're committed to removing guns and other weapons from our streets and we're carrying out regular activity across the city."
