A trial date has been set for a man charged with murder after a 24-year-old man died in a hit-and-run crash in East Sussex.
Jack Field was hit by a car in Diplocks Walk off Western Road in Hailsham at about 23:00 GMT on Saturday.
He died at the scene.
At Lewes Crown Court on Friday, Kyle Dumble, 26, of no fixed address, did not enter a plea and remains in custody.
Mr Dumble is charged with murder, attempted GBH with intent, disqualified driving and driving without insurance.
He will next appear at Lewes Crown Court for a pre-trial hearing in January.
A provisional trial date was set for 28 May 2024.
'We will hold him in our hearts forever'
In a statement issued through Sussex Police, Mr Field's family said Jack was a loving son, brother and friend.
His family said he had "left a gaping hole" which would "never be filled".
"We will hold him in our hearts forever," they said.
A second man was also injured during the incident, Sussex Police said.
