Teenager charged with cannabis production
- Published
A teenager has been charged with production of cannabis after police were called to a restaurant, bar and wedding venue.
Casa Brighouse in West Yorkshire had its licence suspended by Calderdale Council on 5 August after police were called to assist with a warrant on behalf of an energy supplier.
The teenager, 17, appeared before magistrates and was bailed to appear at Bradford Crown Court at a later date.
Another man, who was arrested on suspicion of abstracting electricity and production of cannabis, has been released under investigation.
The venue remains open but is unable to sell alcohol or hold events until a full review of its licence is held by Calderdale Council.
The council previously said: "We will carry out the review within the next month, which will involve looking into whether the business is being managed and operated in line with its licence conditions and the Licensing Act 2003.鈥
Applications in response to the licence review must be made to the council by 4 September.
